This video will introduce you to the ‘Restore’ tool in WordPress.

This Restoring Pages tutorial covers:

When you ‘Delete’ a page from the ‘Pages’ screen it is moved to the pages trash folder.

The trash feature is designed to protect you from accidentally permanently deleting content from your site. When an item is moved to the trash it is stored for 30 days before being deleted permanently.

To view a page that has been moved to the trash, from the ‘Pages’ screen click the ‘Trash’ link. If you don’t have any items in the trash, the link will not display.

Hovering over an item in the trash folder reveals an action menu. Clicking ‘Delete Permanently’ will delete the item immediately with no further recovery option. ‘Restore’ will move the item from the trash and make the post live on your site once again.

This video will introduce you to replacing images inside WordPress posts and pages.

This ‘Replace Images’ tutorial covers:

  • Deleting an existing image
  • Selecting an image from the ‘Media Library’
  • Uploading a new image
  • Updating your content

You can quickly change out images in a post or a page. If you want to replace an image that is in one of your posts or pages, click on the image and select the ‘Delete’ icon. The cursor will replace the image giving you the option to drop a new image in its place by clicking the ‘Add Media’ button.

Under the ‘Media Library’ tab, in the ‘Insert Media’ screen, select an image by clicking on it. Options to adjust the details and display settings will appear. When you are happy with the image settings click the ‘Insert Into Post’ button.

To upload a replacement image, from the ‘Upload Files’ tab drag an image over the browser and drop the image where it says ‘Drop files anywhere to upload’. When the file is added click the ‘Insert Into Post’ button.

Once you have successfully replaced your image you can preview the changes by clicking ‘Preview’ in the ‘Publish’ module, or click update to make your changes go live immediately.

Posts were uniquely designed to keep a steady flow of new content on your site while maintaining organization. To create a new post hover over ‘Posts’ in your dashboard and click ‘Add New’. The first text field on the ‘Add New Post’ screen is for creating a title.

The next box is for content creation. You can either type or copy-and-paste content prepared in another text editor. Above the text editor you will find a list of tools for formatting your text. To the right and below the text editor you will find modules for organization and further customization.

To save the content of your post without making it go live on your site click ‘Save Draft’ in the ‘Publish’ module. Clicking ‘Preview’ will let you see what your new post will look like when published. If your are ready to share your post with the world click ‘Publish’ and the content will be added to your site.

Lists not only make content easier to read, it often makes your content more visually appealing. The ‘Ordered’ and ‘Unordered’ list icons simplify the list creation process.

To create an unordered, or bulleted, list simply click the ‘Unordered List’ icon in the formatting toolbar, begin typing the items in your list and when you are finished click the unordered list button again to complete the list.

To make an ordered, or numbered, list click the ‘Ordered List’ icon and type your list. When your list is complete click the ‘Ordered List’ icon again.
